MacBook & Mac repair on the Upper East Side
DriveTech provides troubleshooting and repair for MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and other Apple computers from East 82nd Street.
Before replacing a Mac, diagnose the failure
A Mac that appears dead or unusable may have a display, power, battery, charging, storage, software, liquid-damage, or board-level problem. DriveTech evaluates the model and symptoms before recommending repair, data recovery, or replacement.
Will not turn on or boot
Power, charging, battery, display, storage, macOS, and board-level symptoms.
Screen and display
Cracked displays, lines, flickering, dark screens, backlight, and external-display testing.
Liquid damage
Internal inspection, corrosion and board-level evaluation, with data protection considered first.
Storage and performance
Slow operation, low storage, failed drives, data transfer, macOS problems, and compatible upgrade options.
Not every Mac can be upgraded the same way
Many newer MacBooks have memory and storage components built into the logic board. Older models may support battery, storage, or memory replacement more directly. The exact model and year determine the realistic options.
Protect important files before repair
If the Mac contains irreplaceable documents, photos, or business data, mention that first. A failing drive or liquid-damaged board may require a data-preservation plan before ordinary troubleshooting.
Encrypted or FileVault-protected recovery requires the customer’s password or recovery key.
